A CAN connector alone does not establish compatibility
The physical connector, pin layout and communication protocol are separate issues. Even if both systems have CAN or RS-485 ports, you still need an approved BMS protocol, correct cable and manufacturer-specified configuration. Check both devices' documentation.
Expansion and firmware versions
For modular systems, check permitted module count, controller generation, operating voltage and manufacturer requirements for combining older and newer modules. The compatibility list must match your model and firmware, not just the brand.
What should I send for a check?
